The company was founded as a joint venture between TEGA Marketing (Pty) Ltd. of Fourways, RSA and ADDCON AGRAR GmbH back in 2002 by Klaus J. Oster and Bernd Kochannek in order to introduce and promote the range of products manufactured in Europe by the ADDCON GROUP into Southern Africa.
In late 2004, the company also became the official representative of BIOMIN GmbH of Austria and since 2005 the full range of products is successfully imported and distributed in Southern Africa and Indian Ocean Islands. By far the most prominent animal feed additive is the well known and accepted MYCOFIX range of products, which by now is being regularly used by the poultry, pig, dairy, feed lot as well as pet food industry throughout the country and beyond our borders. The probiotic range of BIOMIN P.E.P. phytogenics was introduced for application in pigs, poultry and dairy cattle a year later.
In 2008, when ADDCON EUROPE GmbH took over the worldwide marketing of FORMI from BASF, also this product line was incorporated into our range of regular stock items. As of 2009 a number of new and highly innovative products have found their way to our shores.
New products from ADDCON EUROPE GmbH are KOFA LIFE, KOFA LIFE ‘M’, KOFA GRAIN - pH 5 -, KOFA BP, FORMI NDF, ADDCON X3 and ADDCON XL. Especially the KOFA range of products was our way forward into the silage and grain preservation markets, to a large extend a new and innovative technology what South African farmers haven’t seen before. Successful trials were conducted with almost all the major players in the country during the first half of 2010.
In 2009, we were appointed by RKW ProAgri of Michelsstadt, Germany. The wide range of silage sheeting’s, vacuum films and bale nettings go perfectly along with our activities in the field of grain and silage preservation. Most of the range of products are by now regular stock items available from our warehouses. All products are UV protecteded for 12 months under SA conditions.
BUDDISA-Bag of Bautzen in Germany has appointed us during the early part of 2010 as their representative for Southern Africa. The ranges of highly sophisticated Silage Bags are being used in the safe and economical storage of maize, grains and grass silage. All bags carry a UV stabilization especially adapted to suit the local conditions and are guaranteed to last for at least 12 months. Machinery for silage bagging is also available on request from our German business partners.
We are the appointed agent of DEVENISH Nutrition of Belfast, Northern Ireland since mid 2010. A wide range of alternative, nutritionally enhanced protein products, which allow more efficient delivering of amino acids to the animal, thus maximizing the nutrient utilization are now available ex local stocks. The range of products consists of NatuPro, Matan XL, Matan R, ResQ, ByPro and DeviGuard.
ADDCON AFRICA believes in only promoting the very best and most innovative as well as patented technologies and products. Along with our principals, we are regularly visiting the markets, clients and decision makers, organizing road shows and customer days ,participate in most major trade fares & conferences and are also part and parcel of a number of study groups around the country and abroad.
Since spring time 2010, we are now also representing BIORIGIN of Sao Paulo, Brazil; a member of the renowned Brazilian ZILOR Group founded back in 1946 already. The range of Yeast based products currently available to us include: Nutricell, ActiveMOS, Selemax, HiCell, Biotide and MACROGARD. The company is fully backward integrated which assures a consistent high quality raw material supply and therefore an unmatched and steady quality of finished products now available to the South African animal farming and breeding community.
All of our animal feed additives are registered with the Department of Agriculture (Act. 36 of 1947). We are also a member of AFMA (African Feed Manufacturers Association) and have been accredited with the highly sought after AFMA Code of Conduct certificate in September 2009 already. Some of our staff and consultants are also members of various Societies and Associations including the Pet Food Industry Association.
